What to Wear?

Appropriate Attire

Appropriate attire for gymnastics participation is essential for safety, and mobility. Appropriate attire can vary according to the level of gymnastics. While leotards are ideal for gymnastics at any level (especially for performance):

Mini-Stars:  Mom Pop and Tot, Tumble Tot I & II, and Kindergym are safe in a properly sized, tucked-in t-shirt and shorts or warm-up pants.  Please no buttons, snaps or zippered clothing.

Beginner I Students: are also safe in a properly sized, tucked-in t-shirt and shorts or warm-up pants.  Please no buttons, snaps or zippered clothing.

Beginner II students and above: must wear a leotard, unitard or (one piece bathing suit).  Snug fitting elastic/spandex shorts may also be worn on top of the leotard.

All students must be barefoot or in gymnastic shoes at all times during class for safety.  Socks are slippery on most of our equipment.  (The pit will eat them up anyhow!)  Shoes should be left under the benches next to the water cooler.

All students must be free of any jewelry; and long hair should be pulled away from the face with a soft hair band.

Never allow your child to have gum in the gym.  (We may not catch it, and choking is a real hazard).
